Schiaccionaia ("crushed stones") is the name of a farm founded by a professional couple from Rome, Marcella Turziani and Dagoberto Rolla, in 2000, in hopes of living a more healthy and natural life. This was their initial motivation in growing a variety of crops under organic/biologico disciplines: grapes, olives, chestnuts and various berry fruits, as well as other specialities like artisanal cheeses.
Their property consists of 18 hectares (about 45 acres), 6 of which are under vine. Marcella and her son Riccardo run the vineyard and winery with the consultation of the respected enologo, Luca D'Attoma. D'Attoma's recommendations have resulted in recent strides in quality and improved clarity in the nose and taste of the wines.
