Name of Wine: Greco di Tufo 2007
Producer: Angelarosa
Summary: An exhilarating Greco di Tufo with all the raciness that the variety can offer. A small percentage of Coda di Volpe adds a spicy snap and more golden color. A wine we call "compulsively drinkable" - you can't stop sipping because its complexity of flavors and aromas is fascinating
Alcohol: 14%
Location/appellation: Montefusco DOCG del Greco di Tufo DOCG - This minute appellation covers the rural townships of Tufo, Altavilla Irpina, Chianche, Montefusco and Santa Paolina. The grapes come only from Angelarosa's own vineyards (only 4 hectares, total, under vine)
Grape varieties: Greco di Tufo with under 10% Coda di Volpe
Exposure: Southwest
Altitude: 500 metres / 1600 feet above sea level
Soil: Clayey
Vineyard Management & Training: Espalier with new shoots each year. Use of organic techniques (no chemical pesticides or herbicides)
Vinification: Soft pressing, fermented and vinified in stainless steel at controlled temperature
Smells & Tastes: Strong perfume of nuts - hazelnut, almond - and a flavor that owes nothing to any fruit besides grapes. Very long finish
