Name of Wine: Faiano 2009 Producer: Terra di Vento Summary: Light in color and taste, this is a Fiano kissed by the sea. Grown on the first big hill inland from the Salerno plain, the sea is within view, and the wine is filled with peach, lemon and the tang of the Mediterranean. Versatile - great with food and on its own Alcohol: 12.5% Location/appellation: Pontecagnano Faiano (SA) / Colli di Salerno IGT Grape varieties: 100% Fiano Exposure: South, southwest Altitude: 200-300 metres/600-1000 feet above sea level Soil: Calcareous and argillous. (Chalky and clayey) Vineyard Management & Training: Guyot. 4800-5500 vines/hectare Vinification: Fermented in stainless steel tanks. One-third is kept in medium-sized French oak Smells & Tastes: Straw color. Aromas of the sea and peaches. Citrus and lemon notes add freshness on the palate. Excellent aperitif as well as accompaniment to seafood and summer meals |
