Summary: Complex, powerful red of considerable intensity and focus. Cabernet grapes undergo passito process, revealing unknown depths of vivacity and charm. Stunning.

Location/appellation: Valpolicella, IGT - from Santa Maria di Negrar vineyard  

Grape varieties: 35% Cabernet Franc, 30% Corvina, 15% Rondinella, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Molinara

Exposure: East at Santa Maria, south at Parona

Altitude:  170-190 metres/ 560-600 feet above sea level

Soil: Mixed fluvial and moraine soils (post-glaciation)

Vineyard Management & Training: Guyot at Parona, Pergola veronese at Santa Maria

Vinification: Fermented in stainless steel. Racked frequently. Aged in Slavonian oak botti and barriques for 36 months

Smells & Tastes: Dark, potent, very long finish. The contrasting characters of Cab Franc and Cab Sauvignon somehow meld harmoniously. Valpolicella grapes add a zippy, refreshing note. Repeat: Stunning.
